One
of my co-fellows while returning from the school in a 6 sitter auto
rickshaw, met with an accident. The accident occurred at a place near a
senior secondary school. Although, the fellow was safe, the auto
rickshaw got over a small boy of around 15 years of age who got injured
badly while riding a bicycle. After the
accident, the fellow came out of the auto rickshaw and saw that the poor boy who had got stuck in the wheel of the auto rickshaw was crying out loud due to pain. To add humor to the scene, everybody started running instead of helping the boy. The driver was the first person who ran away by jumping out from the auto rickshaw. All the passengers ran away by holding their bags and materials while looking back. It made the fellow feel like some bomb is about to explode in the auto rickshaw and people are running to save their own lives. It made the fellow exaggerated and she started shouting loud for help which turn out of no use. Then she helped the boy to come out.
This is not the end of the tragedy. Then she called up 108 (emergency helpline number in Rajasthan) from where they started inquiry and later they replied that right now there is no vehicle available. It pissed off the fellow. Thankfully at that time only, one of the RPs was travelling on his bike when he saw her and stopped. He was a good person. While talking to the RP, Fellow came to know that there is no ambulance or anything available in a place where more than 250 NGOs are working. Then after some more efforts, 108 called back to inform that they are sending one ambulance and the fellow decided to come back to Jhadol with the RP.
This small incident made me think about a lot of things and many questions started rising in my mind like why those people were so scared. Are these people really those Bheel Tribals who made the King Maharana Pratap famous all over the world for his battle of Haldi Ghati where they did guerrilla war? Are they scared of Dhapa or are they scared of the poor system which can lead them to some unknown legal problem?
May be these questions will remain unanswered to me forever!!!
